How to use the NorthStar Fundraiser Design Tool
Please Note: When designing your flags make sure to design the front and back of the car flag. Your design for the vertical flag on the right will be used for both the garden flag and the house flag. 1) Choose Background Color
2) Start Designing!
Design Template
Main Control Panel
The control panel buttons in the upper left is what you will actually use to design your product. Each button is described below.
Add Text Button - Use to create text on your design.
Add Shapes Button - Allows you to add one of six shapes to your design.
Add Stock Images Button - Choose from over 10,000 graphic elements to use in your design.
Upload File Button - Upload your own artwork to use in your design. Please Note: We recommend that all uploaded artwork be vector artwork created in a program like Adobe Illustrator to avoid art correction delays. Feel free to use images from our clip art library. All images from our library meet the art spec guidelines. If you are unsure whether your artwork will print well, give us a call at 1-800-958-3009 and a member of our Graphic Department will be happy to assist you! We're always here to help!
Undo and Redo Buttons - Undo will reverse your most recent change. If you accidentally Undo something , clicking Redo will restore it.
Clear Button - Will clear everything from your design including background color.
Send Notes - Type any notes you need us to know.
Image Tools
The image tools panel appears on the left the template where you will design your product. While most tools can be used for both shapes and images some tools will only be available to use with shapes, and some tools will only be available to use with stock images and uploaded images. SInce we use a combined template (a template where designs for all three flag types can be done) the "align" tool will not work properly.
Using Colors
If uploading your own artwork, we recommend Pantone Matching System (PMS) colors be used. Using the PMS color books allow us to print colors accurately. Colors can vary greatly between different monitors and printers. The color you see on your monitor may look quite different on our monitors, so an accurate match to our monitor may not be an accurate match to your monitor.
Without PMS colors, NorthStar Flags cannot guarantee color accuracy.
We've found experience to be the best teacher! So go ahead and mess around with the designer. Remember if you don't like what you did just hit the undo button. If that doesn't fix it, give us a call @ 1-800-958-3009 Mon - Fri 8:30am to 5:30pm EST. We would love to help!
